How does saving work? (free, private, no account)
  • Free, no account, no subscription. Saving your meal plans costs nothing and needs no sign-in.
  • Saved in this browser only. Your meal plans are stored on this device and never uploaded to a server, so they stay private, but they do not sync to your other devices or browsers.
  • Clearing browser data removes them. Private / incognito windows do not keep saved meal plans. On a shared computer, anyone using this browser can see them, so use New or Delete when you are done, or export the file and delete it.
  • Nothing here is behind a paywall. If cross-device sync is ever added, it would be a separate optional account feature; local saving stays free.

A weekly meal planner with an automatic grocery list

Deciding what to eat once, for the whole week, is one of the simplest ways to save money, cut food waste, and skip the daily what is for dinner question. This planner gives you a slot for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack on every day of the week, so the plan is complete rather than dinner-only.

The grocery list is the part that does the heavy lifting. Add a comma-separated list of ingredients under any meal and they are collected into one shopping list, with duplicates merged: eggs used on three days appears once, marked x3, instead of three separate lines. Buying to a single combined list means fewer impulse buys and less food left to spoil.

When your week is planned, print the grid for the fridge or use Save as PDF from the print dialog. You can export the meals as a CSV with a column per meal type, and export the grocery list as its own CSV, so the plan can stay on the fridge while the shopping list travels on your phone.

Everything runs in your browser and is saved to your own device, so your meals and shopping habits stay private. There is no account and no cost; reopening the page brings your last plan straight back.

How the Meal Planner Works

  1. 01Fill in what you plan to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks across all seven days.
  2. 02Add a comma-separated list of ingredients under any meal you want on your shopping list.
  3. 03The grocery list builds itself automatically, combining duplicate ingredients across the whole week into one clean list.
  4. 04Print the plan for the fridge, or export the meals and the grocery list as separate CSV files.

Meal planning that cuts waste and stress

The point of a weekly meal plan is to decide once, so you are not answering the what's for dinner question seven times. Plan around what you already have and what is on offer, repeat meals where it helps (a double batch on Monday becomes Wednesday's lunch), and keep a couple of easy fallback meals for busy days. The automatic grocery list is where the real saving happens: buying to a single combined list means fewer impulse buys, less food thrown away, and usually a smaller bill.

When to Use a Meal Planner

Use it once a week before you shop, so your trip is driven by a plan instead of guesswork. It is equally handy for batch cooking, for sticking to a budget, for managing dietary needs across a household, or for anyone tired of last-minute takeaways. Since it runs entirely in your browser, your meals and shopping habits stay private to your device.

Common Use Cases

Tips

  • List ingredients the way you buy them (2 onions, milk) so the grocery list is ready to shop from.
  • Repeat a meal or plan a leftovers night to cut both cooking time and waste.
  • Keep one or two no-cook fallback meals in the plan for the days everything runs late.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the grocery list generated?
Every ingredients field you fill in is split on commas, trimmed, and merged into one list for the week. If the same ingredient appears under more than one meal it is grouped together and shown with a count, so eggs used on three days appears once as eggs with a x3 next to it rather than three separate lines.
Do I have to add ingredients?
No. Ingredients are optional. You can use the planner purely to decide meals and leave the ingredient boxes empty, in which case the grocery list simply stays empty. Add ingredients only for the meals you want to shop for.
Can I plan snacks as well as main meals?
Yes. Each day has rows for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack, so you can plan the whole day. The snack row works exactly like the others, including its own optional ingredients that feed into the grocery list.
Can I export the plan and the shopping list separately?
Yes. There is a CSV export for the meals (with a column per meal type) and a separate CSV export for the combined grocery list. You can print just the plan too, which is handy to stick on the fridge while the shopping list stays on your phone.
Is my meal plan private?
Completely. The planner saves to your own browser and never sends anything to a server, so your meals and ingredients stay on your device. If you use a private window, or clear your browser data, the saved plan is removed.
